Despite their 40-year history and facilities throughout the United States, the UK, and Canada, Sunrise Senior Living never had a Manhattan location. The company, along with developers Hines and Welltower, wanted this inaugural project to match the sensibility of its Upper East Side location. The resulting residential facility has the same atmosphere as a classic New York apartment building, updated for current times. Our designers matched the signage to the elegance of the building, from blackened stainless steel to identify the bistro and theatre, to the marquee that greets residents, staff, and visitors, to each apartment’s identification and coordinating memory box that reflects the history and interest of the resident. The signage throughout the building reflects the urban sophistication of the classic New York architecture and the surrounding neighborhood and subtly contributes to the residents’ experience of Sunrise as their home.
