Herter Design Group (HDG) is starting work this month on two projects, one establishing donor recognition standards for a large Long Island hospital and the other designing wayfinding and signage for a new senior living facility in New York City.
Northwell Health is embarking on an expansion of their North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) location in Manhasset, NY, partially funded by their donors’ generosity. To help the hospital properly honor the donors, HDG’s designers are beginning work on a program that they will implement in the new facilities and that will form the basis of donor recognition design standards for all of NSUH.
At the end of 2020, Sunrise at East 56th opened, marking Sunrise Assisted Living’s first facility in Manhattan. They and their team – Hines, Welltower, SLCE Architects, Champalimaud Design, and HDG – moved onto their second building, this time on the Upper West Side. The new development at 2330 Broadway near West 85th Street is of similar scale and scope to its east side counterpart, with a comparable package of amenities and services, but with a style matching its west side neighborhood.
